/   Initial consultation(s) to determine collecting goals – identifying specific artists, periods, style, budget, space parameters. To trigger ideas for the collecting starting point and direction, an image-led digital guide through the history of art photography showcasing a wide cross-section of artists and genres can be organised

/   A walk-through of space(s) in which artwork will be displayed to assess potential locations of the artworks, wall dimensions, lighting etc.

/ Market and artist-specific research for sourcing (from private sellers, artists, galleries, estates or auction houses), pricing, historical and biographical information to determine appropriate artworks for individual clients

/ Virtual or in-person artwork proposals, which include considered image selections along with artwork details (sizes, editions, frame details, prices). Artist concepts, processes and key biographical information also form part of the proposals

/ Artwork and installation concepts for larger or multiple spaces that include broader presentations with considered themes. Proposals may include digital simulations of rooms with installation proposals to scale

/ Assessment of individual artwork values. For vintage works, print quality, condition, date, provenance, rarity, and so forth, are analysed

/ Research of comparable artworks considering market prices to ensure the client pays a fair and competitive price. This can sometimes include finding advantageous buying opportunities at auction

/ Inquiry into artworks that may be rare or long sold out, made possible from being in the market and through extensive network

/ Coordination of gallery viewings, art fair walk-throughs and artist studio visits

/ Recommendations for museum exhibitions and festivals to attend

/ Auction alerts: highlighting upcoming coming works for sale that might be of interest to individual clients. When requested, checking condition, print specificities and advising on value. Where possible and if relevant, viewing and bidding in person on behalf of client

/ Introductions to artists, museum curators and industry experts

/ Correspondence with the seller along with negotiation of discounts and purchase terms for the sole benefit of the client. This is always carried out in accordance with the Association of Professional Art Advisors’ code of ethics, emphasising integrity and full transparency

/ Advise on and arrangement of artwork logistics including framing, shipping, insurance, taxes, conservation and installation

/ Collection management including appraisals, cataloguing and organising integration with reliable collection management systems
